Our Spring Semester Youth Ambassador Program pairs young changemakers directly with state leaders, hands-on community service, and state capitol advocacy to show them how government works—and how creativity sparks real civic change.

Big ideas start at this table.
Middle school is the moment young people start asking big questions about fairness, community, and how the world around them works. The Civic Table gives students in grades 6 through 8 a front-row seat to real-world change—turning curiosity into active leadership.
Instead of dry lectures, our Junior Ambassadors use creative expression—drawing portraits of their leaders, writing personal letters, and asking thoughtful questions—to connect directly with state decision-makers. From touring the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City to leading hands-on service projects right here in our neighborhoods, students discover firsthand that their voices carry real weight.

Capitol Immersion
Walking the halls where history is made, touring the legislative chambers, and meeting state representatives face-to-face.
Real-World Civics
Asking questions directly to state leaders, discovering how laws are written, and learning how decisions impact our families.
Neighborhood Service
Putting leadership into action right here at home by serving at community dinners, shelters, and care initiatives.
Creative Expression
Drawing representative portraits, writing letters, and using creative storytelling to make young voices impossible to ignore.

We keep our middle school cohort small so every student receives personal mentorship, speaking time with representatives, and individualized leadership coaching.
Open to students entering grades 6–8 in the Greater Kansas City area. Parent or educator recommendation required.
